How many photos will be edited? Are there extra editing costs?
Our Signature Collection includes unlimited high-resolution images, with couples typically receiving around 80 photos per hour of coverage. Every image delivered in your gallery is individually edited for colour, exposure, and consistency. There are no additional editing fees - it's all included.
How long does delivery take, and do you provide sneak peeks?
We promise delivery of your full gallery and videos within 12 weeks, although we often deliver much sooner depending on the wedding season.
We know how exciting it is to relive your wedding day, so we also provide sneak peeks within 48 hours. In many cases, you'll receive them the very next day (especially if we're not photographing another wedding back-to-back!).
What happens if you're unwell or there's an emergency?
Life can be unpredictable, and while it's incredibly rare, we always have an ironclad backup plan.
We maintain a trusted network of experienced lead photographers and videographers who can step in if an emergency prevents us from attending. In fact, when I unexpectedly had to travel overseas for my mum's funeral, a brilliant photographer whose work has been featured in Hello May stepped in seamlessly. The couple still received the exact documentary style and care they fell in love with. No matter what happens, you will never be left without professional coverage on your wedding day.
What is your file backup process?
We're probably a little obsessive when it comes to data security. Your memories are far too important to trust to a single device, which is why we secure your images at every single stage:
Do you have a wet weather plan?
Absolutely. If rain is forecast, I always recommend having a few clear or matching umbrellas ready for the bridal party. Light rain rarely stops us from creating beautiful photographs.
Sometimes "bad" weather creates opportunities for your most unique photos. For example, at Shelley and Joel's wedding, heavy rain meant we couldn't leave the venue grounds, yet some of the couple's absolute favourite images ended up being captured right from the verandah overlooking the park. Dunbar House has gorgeous heritage features including its verandas and hallways, all of which make wonderful photo backdrops. The weather may change our location, but it won't stop us from creating beautiful images.
Is there a travel fee?
There is no travel fee for weddings within Greater Sydney. For weddings outside of Sydney, a travel fee may apply depending on the location. Any travel costs will be included in your quote completely upfront, so there are absolutely no surprises after your wedding day.
What is your typical photography timeline on the day?
The short answer? Hairspray. Buttonholes. Happy tears. Confetti. Family photos. Couple portraits. Champagne. Dance floor chaos.
The longer answer is that every wedding is unique.
Some couples choose a First Look before the ceremony. Others include cultural traditions such as a Chinese/ Vietnamese tea ceremony, door games, or family customs that have been passed down through generations.
One of the most memorable examples was Jesse's wedding, where the family incorporated a traditional Hakka practice before the ceremony. It was something I had never photographed before, and being able to learn about and document these meaningful traditions is one of the things I love most about weddings.
Because no two weddings are the same, I don't believe in forcing couples into a standard timeline template. During our first video call, we'll walk through your plans together, discuss any cultural traditions, family expectations, travel between locations, and key moments that are important to you. I'll then help map out a timeline that flows naturally and gives you the best possible photography experience.
As a starting point, a standard 9-hour timeline often looks like this:
We start with a little of the getting ready, capturing all the little details and genuine moments before everyone heads off. It's usually a nice mix of excitement, laughter... and someone asking, "Has anyone seen the rings?"
During the ceremony, we work quietly in the background so you can stay completely present while we capture everything naturally. Afterwards, we move into the group photos. We usually begin with one big photo of everyone together while all your guests are still in the same place. From there, we work through the family photos, usually some combo like below:
Extended family
Immediate family
Both immediate families together
Every family is different, so we'll adjust the list if needed.
For example, divorced parents or special family situations are something we plan for beforehand. Once the family photos are done, we move on to photos with friends.
We like to do family first for two reasons. It's much easier to gather everyone before they wander off to the bar... and mums can finally relax knowing they've got the family photo they've been waiting for!
Then it's time for the bridal party and couple portraits.
One little trick we've learnt over the years is to photograph the bridal party first.
Then we send them back to enjoy cocktail hour while the two of you get a few quiet minutes together. Honestly, this ends up being one of most couples' favourite parts of the day.
After months (or years!) of planning, it's finally just the two of you. You get a chance to slow down, breathe, laugh together and let it all sink in. We simply guide you as you walk, chat and enjoy each other's company. No awkward posing or wondering what to do with your hands. We'll take care of that.
When it's time for the reception, you'll usually have around 30 minutes in the bridal suite to freshen up, grab something to eat and take a breather while we photograph the reception room before guests enter.
From there, we simply follow the celebrations as they happen: your entrance, speeches, cake cutting, first dance and, of course, the dance floor once everyone forgets we're holding cameras!
Throughout the day, we're always keeping an eye on the timeline. If things run a little behind (which they often do), don't stress. That's completely normal. We quietly adjust things behind the scenes so you can stay present and enjoy your day.
By the end of the wedding, you'll probably feel like we've become part photographer, part coordinator, part dress fluffer, part boutonnière fixer and occasionally professional veil thrower!
Most importantly, we're there to make the day feel easy. The best photos/ videos happen when you're relaxed, having fun and spending time with the people you love.
Whether your wedding is a simple ceremony and reception or a full-day celebration with multiple traditions and locations, we'll make sure everything runs smoothly and all the important moments are captured.
What is your actual approach on the day? Are we going to spend hours posing?
Our style is "pictomentary" — a natural blend of candid documentary storytelling and authentic emotion. We don’t take over your day or order your guests around like a movie director. Instead, we blend into the background to capture the genuine laughs, the happy tears, and the dance floor chaos exactly as they happen.
When it comes to your location shoot and portraits, here is how we handle it:
I won't be pulling out an iPad on your wedding day to copy poses. You should enjoy the process of your wedding day just as much as the final photos. My goal is to keep the energy relaxed and fun so the real magic happens naturally!
